The short version: a Pakistani car wash runs on cash, mobile wallets and regulars. The best setup records every payment method in one day-end report, lets the crew work in Urdu, survives a power cut, and is ready for the rush before Eid.
The formats
- Service stations with a wash bay alongside oil change and tyre work.
- Hand-wash points — crew-run, cash-heavy and busy on Sundays.
- Detailing and ceramic studios in DHA, Clifton, Gulberg and the F-sectors, where jobs are booked with an advance.
- Fleet washing for companies and ride-hailing drivers.
Payments: count everything the same way
The day-end problem in most washes is not theft; it is mixing. Cash in the drawer, JazzCash on the owner’s phone, Easypaisa on a manager’s, a bank transfer from a company. If the POS records each as its own payment method, the close report shows exactly what should be where.
| Method | Where the money lands | What the POS records |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Drawer | Cash, counted at close |
| Card | Your bank via the processor | Card payment |
| JazzCash | Your JazzCash account | “JazzCash” payment method |
| Easypaisa | Your Easypaisa account | “Easypaisa” payment method |
| Bank transfer | Your bank | Transfer, with reference |
Urdu at the counter
Many crews read Urdu faster than English. When the screen is in Urdu, a new washer can take payment on the first day. Keep reports in English or Urdu for yourself — each user chooses.
Load-shedding and connectivity
A hosted POS keeps your data safe off-site, but the selling device needs power and internet:
- Put the router and tablet on a UPS.
- Keep a mobile-data hotspot as backup.
- Charge tablets during the day so a power cut at closing does not stop the count.
The Eid rush
The days before Eid are the busiest of the year. Prepare a week ahead:
- Create an Eid package (exterior + interior + tyre shine) at one price.
- Put it in your online store and let regulars pay in advance by JazzCash or Easypaisa.
- Add a second register on a tablet for the queue.
- Check staff commission settings so extra shifts are paid fairly.
Fleets: steady money in quiet months
Offices, delivery companies and ride-hailing fleets wash often and pay monthly. A fleet account with a credit limit and a monthly statement makes you the obvious choice for them — and smooths cash flow through the monsoon.
Tax and FBR
Sales tax on services is set by the provinces; goods follow federal rules. Ask your accountant which rates apply to you. Some retailers must integrate their POS with FBR systems; we do not claim FBR certification, so raise it on your demo if it applies to you. See the Federal Board of Revenue for official guidance.
